NYC for GenBeauty 2017

If you've read my previous post, by now you know that I'm catching up on old blog posts that I never got around to writing.

Next up on that list is my trip to NYC for GenBeauty 2017, which also took place in September (about two weeks after MIA Festival). This one is going to be a bit shorter and less detailed than my previous GenBeauty post because I took less pictures and didn't take the pictures of the products I received (my bad). It was my second year attending and I had such high expectations! Thanks to the previous year's event being so great and all.. I'm not quite sure what it was but for some reason I just didn't enjoy it as much as I did the year before. All that aside- I went with my girl and it also happened to be her birthday weekend so we had a blast either way.

So this last event was a little different from 2016's. Instead of 2 goodie bags (one each day), this time they only gave 1 bag upon check in on your first day. The more popular vendor booths were so crowded that making a line to redeem your free item took over an hour and a half. Actually, I think I made one line for 2 hours! After that we were pretty much over the waiting and decided to just walk around, take pictures and get what we could from the less crowded booths.

That same night we went to Vandal for my friend's birthday dinner. The food was great and the place was perfect for photos. Every room had a different theme and different art (I even saw a space invader piece *heart eyes*), and then there's the infamous pink Vandal bunny, which I obviously needed a picture with.

A few more pictures from the trip, some of these I've already posted on IG

And now for the best part.. The food:

Milk Cereal Soft Serve from Milk Bar
made with milk, cornflakes, brown sugar and a pinch of salt.
(OK. this was so good we went back the next day to have more. This is a must from now on every time I visit NY, obsessed! And don't get me started on their birthday cake truffles.)

Pulled Pork Eggs Benedict

 Unicorn Special from Taiyaki NYC
Vanilla and Strawberry ice cream served in a red bean filled waffle cone

Unicorn Float
Lactose free taro slush with whipped cream and sprinkles

Doughnut Grilled Cheese from Clinton Hall NY
Fresh Glazed doughnut with mozzarella cheese, served over tomato soup
(you can just imagine how great this was..)

Garlic Lobster Roll from Lukes
(as usual every time I go to NY lol)
